Create an Analysis-Focused Dashboard

One of the first and most critical tasks to perform as an analyst is to build a dashboard to give yourself the best possible situational awareness.

About Dashboards

Epiphany gives you the power to choose the way it presents data to you, so you can always see what matters most to you. Epiphany includes many widgets you can add to a dashboard. You can name and save your dashboard, so you can have easy access to the information you need on a regular basis.

When you log into Epiphany for the first time, you’ll see a blank dashboard.

Any time you want to make a new dashboard, just select New Dashboard in the left navigation menu and it will be ready to populate with your chosen components.

Once you’ve created a dashboard, you can select it at any time from the left navigation menu, under Dashboards. Your dashboard may only include a few widgets, or it may include all of Epiphany’s widgets. You get to decide how much information you want to view at one time. Additionally, you can create multiple dashboards.

Building a Dashboard

It’s easy to build a dashboard.

  1. In the left navigation menu, select Dashboards and then select New Dashboard.

  2. When you've added all the widgets you want to add, select Save at the bottom of the widget list. Then select Yes to create the dashboard page.

  3. Many widgets support variable column width sizing - when you are in edit mode you will see a resize hot corner on the bottom right of the widget window - you can use this to make the widget larger or smaller.

For an example of a finished dashboard, see Example Analyst Dashboard.

For a list of each widget and the group it belongs to, see Dashboard Widgets.

For information on each individual widget in the toolbox, see the sections Attack Path Widgets, Exposure Widgets, Occurrence Widgets, Environmental Widgets, Administrative Widgets, and Ticketing Widgets.
