Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in EVE is an added security measure that requires users to provide an additional verification code, generated by an Authenticator App, in addition to their regular login credentials.
This ensures that even if a user's password is compromised, unauthorized access is prevented by requiring a second form of authentication, significantly enhancing the overall security of the platform.
To enable 2FA for your account in rThreat, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Users tab.
Select your user account and click on the Edit icon.
Toggle the Second Validation option from Inactive to Active. Once enabled, the following message will appear along with a QR code:
Please download your preferred Authenticator App.
Scan the QR code below or enter the key manually using the application: Type the 6-digit code from the Authenticator App to verify your configuration.
After verification, you will be logged out.
To disable 2FA, toggle the Second Validation option from Active to Inactive. You will be required to enter the verification code again, and upon confirmation, you will be logged out.
