Coverage Area

The middle area of the Rogue Report helps you identify coverage gaps. It shows colored circles representing each data source. You can roll your mouse over the circles to see a count of how many users are in each data source. This may seem like it’s redundant with the counts shown in the tiles at the top of the page. However, the value of this area becomes more obvious when you roll your mouse in one of the colored areas that represents the overlap of each data source. For example, when you roll your mouse over the middle of the diagram, it highlights an area that represents the users who are in all four of the data sources represented in the diagram. In this case, there are 7,147 users that are using all the tools: Windows AD, Crowdstrike, Mcafee, and Nexpose. These are the users you don’t need to be concerned about because they have the required coverage.
The users you do need to be worried about are the ones who aren’t using all the tools. This gives you visibility into where you need to take corrective action. You can use the Host List in the bottom area of the Rogue Report to get this specific information.
The image below shows that there are 9,826 users using Windows AD, Crowdstrike, and McAfee. You also know, from the tiles at the top of the page, that there are 18,182 Windows AD users. This tells you that there are quite a few users who don’t have an antivirus scanner.
To find out who these users are, you can use the Host List.
Here are some tips to change your view in the coverage area:
In the dark coverage area, scroll up and down using a multi-function mouse to enlarge or shrink your view of the circles.
Left-click and hold to move the area you are viewing. You can use this technique to refocus and recenter your view.
To scroll down the entire page (to see the Host List), move your mouse into the scrolling region (the light colored area outside the dark coverage area) and scroll up and down.
